Bramble Eyes 05:00
And I was waiting to be seen by your Bramble Eyes Overly turning my heart from throwing full color aside All along in the fire I dream of Mondays - gum boots and windswept angel hides Toothpaste and boundaries Song forging by your side Falling from a bowstring of a million steps without Falling from a bowstring of a million steps without you We're still alive and more than mirrors in motion All along in the fire I dream of Mondays Teapots caressed by equal thighs Silver moon dull days Slow dancing on the riverbed of time All along in the fire We're still alive and more than mirrors in motion

Wondermud 03:08
Furry waters, falling paws Awake the secret wondermud Squirrels fetching silver moons Angles grinding wondermud The earthen imprint has shingled The heart has spun Baking on the golden husks Roaring cosmic goosebump Primates in the sand Leaping frog in wedding stone Scratching silence, wondermud Beneath a starlit feather throne Groaning blood bark, wondermud The dancing of spirit The open and colorful gunk Appearing from the purple earth Is a worm with a golden halo Mixing bone and blood Wondermud The earthen imprint has shingled The heart has spun

On that bustlin road to life We made the gravel spin and forth rose Barley & Swan Guilded beans in broad daylight From pockets sprung And chained me to an unknown home And the vision that was to last Mouse-eaten shoesole Drying the tears off my master's hand No ducks dwell in sight Of the mysterious misgivings Of Barley & Swan Feeding on the moonless nights We hear the catarpillars crunching, Masks outworn The pond would shine, the pond would breed Nothing but clear skies And a grumblin salivation As I settled into peace By the waters guarded intimately Through the membranes of delight I still recall that swish of tailbones, Whinnying fights Try as I might No days are counted All is stillborn Round Barley & Swan

Who are the ancestors Of the whales and doplhins Why did they return to The swollen seas Let's eat zoo plankton Head for the heart of hidden depths Create eco-systems With all pinnipeds We swim through life Semi-aquatic Seals and scones You're not a fish At a closer look Mammalian Our fins will take us Far across the sea If we stick with this You and me Molluscs between my toes Language of tidelines Diving through cerebellum Of ancient foam Gamelan fins be strong Listening in through skin cells Aldebra Giant Tortoise In gliding tones We swim through life... We were once landwalkers Soon we evolved Sea urchin skies above us so blue Fish to get our teeth into But I sense a bit of krill in your gills Tickling your breath apart - Give it to the jellyfish dog Currents who guide the storm Dining with Poseidon Galloping under water To graze the stones Sediments on my throat Stalagtite bowels are rumbling Ringing a slab of granite I raise my bones We swim through life... We bring to life Ecstatic blubber Oracle bones

about

The seedlings for this project came hissing at us in the Palatinate Forest, camped amidst swirling rivers, wild strawberries and flies.

Was it to make a pragmatic Animal Compass to communicate your current being of movement? To do an album of bossa nova songs spun from fruit and veg impressions in Germanic Jibberish?
We cannot truly remember, but the colours have remained strong throughout the recording process these three months living in the English countryside in a hail-pelleted caravan.
The songs have naturally veered toward rabbits, sheep, horses and cattle.

One night we were raptured in questioning the story of the Aquatic Mammals! Why did they return to the sea, evolving into Seals, Whales and Dolphins? So we set our fins in place and headed for the heart of hidden depths, evoking the ecstatic blubber of song conjuring.

Interweaving our selves with the music, the songs became a kind of compass as well for transcribing emotional understanding.

Through difficulties and Hilarity we hope to share the story of the Mammal. Mammalian not fish. And share our untangling and unravelling and particularly our dancing... Moving the recording studio back and forth through warmth and cold, teas, tears and digging.

In Love and Laughter,
